PlayStation has created a new mobile division to bring its IPs to mobile platforms, here is our list of the top 5 PlayStation franchises expected to come to mobile.

Since the start of the PS5 generation, the PlayStation brand has rapidly evolved its business strategy, acquiring budding studios as well as established ones.
The company is now slowly and steadily moving towards creating more multiplayer games and live services. In its continued approach to creating more of these types of games and making PlayStation’s library available to a wider audience, it created a mobile games division and purchased Savage Game Studio.
This announcement opens up many possibilities for PlayStation and the mobile games industry. To celebrate this occasion, we wanted to discuss our list of top 5 PlayStation franchises that are slated to come to mobile devices. Without further ado, let’s get straight to it.
The last of us
It’s no surprise that Naughty’s Dog’s action-adventure franchise, The Last of Us, has become a global phenomenon and is one of the most successful PlayStation IPs in recent memory.
Naughty Dog is already working on an ambitious multiplayer counterpart to The Last of Us, which would feature live service elements and a battle royale mode.
If the aforementioned information is true and the upcoming The Last of Us multiplayer features a battle royale mode, it would make sense for it to be available on mobile devices as well.
Gran Turismo has been PlayStation’s staple racing game series for over 25 years, and we’ve just received a new mainline entry, Gran Turismo 7, on PS4 and PS5.
Racing games have long dominated the mobile platform, and while there have been plenty of casual street racing titles, there have been very few racing simulators with picturesque visuals.
EA’s Real Racing franchise comes to mind, but it’s been dormant for a long time. Not even Microsoft has brought the Forza Motorsport series to mobile devices yet, and this seems like a perfect opportunity for PlayStation to sneak in with a Gran Turismo mobile game and establish an audience.
PlayStation hasn’t had many iconic first-person shooters in a while. The Killzone franchise is arguably its most notable FPS franchise, and it’s been eating dust since 2014.
It’s always been easy to distinguish Killzone games (for better or for worse) from other long-running FPS titles, thanks to their photo-realistic visuals and slower, focused gameplay.
- The Last of Us Remake announced – Release date, price, platforms, more
- God of War Ragnarok – Release Date, Story, Gameplay, Platforms, More
- Destiny 2 Lightfall release date, story, Strand subclass, more
- The Last Of Us TV Series – Release Date, Cast, Story, First Look
The mobile industry is full of fast-paced FPS games, and Killzone could easily be something very distinct from other games in the genre.
Plus, given the insane number of high-end mobile devices these days, Killzone could also bring its quaint visuals from consoles to mobiles for once, which is sorely lacking in FPS mobile games as well.
Destiny / Bungie’s New IP
Besides Savage Game Studio, PlayStation also acquired developer Halo and Destiny Bungie in a multi-million dollar deal earlier this year. Interestingly, it looks like Bungie is working on a new mobile FPS game with NetEase.
It could be a whole new IP or a mobile game adaptation of Destiny, the latter of which makes more sense.
Either way, this could be a big deal for mobile gamers who could finally try out Bungie’s polished FPS experience and distinctive art style, whether through Destiny or otherwise.
PlayStation All-Star Battle Royale
It’s been a while since we’ve had a new fighting game with a notable PlayStation character roaster. Since the last, PlayStation’s long list of iconic characters has grown considerably, and a new entry in the series would be more than welcome.
Fighting games have always had a huge fanbase on mobile platforms, and a new free-to-play PlayStation All-Star Battle Royale featuring all of the fan-favorite PlayStation characters like Kratos, Ellie, Aloy and more could be coming. a great success.
As for Savage Game Studios, PlayStation has confirmed that it is working on a AAA mobile live service game. It could be based on one of the five PlayStation franchises mentioned above or something entirely new. Either way, we can’t wait to find out!
That wraps up our list of the top 5 PlayStation franchises set to come to mobile devices.
