The international team faced long odds at the start of day three of the 2022 Presidents Cup, but they finally started fighting on Saturday morning at Quail Hollow, and just in time to make things interesting.

Or at least to ensure that meaningful golf will be played on Sunday.

Starting the day behind a dominating American team 8-2, the Internationals had an almost impossible task to get back into the tournament. But with 20 points up for grabs, they still had a chance but needed a strong start on Saturday. And they got it.

In the morning foursomes session, they won two of four games to double their point tally. Heading into Saturday afternoon’s four-ball session, the Americans lead 10-4.

Although the international team still have a tall order ahead of them, their play on Saturday morning at least helped them avoid losing the Cup on Saturday, and that gives them a chance to come back on Sunday.

Here are the final results for each Saturday morning foursome match:

Jordan Spieth/Justin Thomas (USA) def. Sungjae Im/Corey Conners (INT) – 4 and 3

Adam Scott/Hideki Matsuyama (INT) defeat. Cameron Young/Collin Morikawa (USA) – 3 and 2

KH Lee/Tom Kim (INT) def. Scottie Scheffler/Sam Burns (USA) – 2 and 1

Tony Finau/Max Homa (USA) def. Si Woo Kim/Cam Davis (INT) – 4 and 3
