People feared riots during Rath Yatra under Congress rule in Gujarat: Shah

On Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah raided Congress saying that during their rule in Gujarat, people feared riots when the Rath Yatra procession was cleared.

“During the reign of the Congress when Rath Yatra was eliminated, people feared that there would be riots. During this time they also tried to take the tank. But after the people of Gujarat empowered the BJP no one has the power to do anything wrong,” Amit Shah told Gandhinagar.

He must participate in the Rath Yatra celebrations.

Shah performs ‘Mangal Aarti’ at Shree Jagannathji Mandir ahead of the 145th Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, Amit Shah attended the inauguration of the admission block of Shree Swaminarayan University and the foundation stone laying ceremony of the 750-bed PSM Hospital in Saij village in Gandhinagar .

The Ratha Yatra, also known as Chariot Celebration of Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra and Lord Balabhadra, is the most important Hindu festival in the city of Puri in Odisha.

This festival takes place every year on the second day of Shukla Paksha in the month of June or July. This year, the festival falls on July 1.
