Marguarite Humphrey’s Career and the Challenges of Working with Large Franchises in Search Marketing

Marguarite (Maggie) Humphrey worked at Cypress North as an intern in 2019, then went to DAC for a few years, then came back to Cypress North after interviewing her. Maggie was born in Rochester and met Greg Finn in an RV and marine industry and Greg offered her an internship. Maggie has given Greg and Cypress a lot of credit for her career, which is always nice to hear.

Maggie started her job at DAC literally a week before DAC closed the office due to COVID. She went remote for a full year and then went back to the office and it was interesting, but she’s back in the office.

At DAC, she started as an account executive, then became a partner and took on many responsibilities for one of their biggest clients. DAC is based in Toronto but has offices everywhere, even overseas.

Maggie does both SEO and PPC, so a good mix of search marketing for this brand alone. They run thousands of locations for that brand, and those smaller franchises have to work harder to grow their own brands, and she loves that kind of work. Each franchise is owned by a different company and they are somewhat comprehensive. Much of it targets specific local keywords for the various franchises. We have talked about some of the complications associated with this type of work.
