Rail operator Eurostar has put tickets on sale and introduced additional trains just in time for Christmas.

Rail operator Eurostar has put tickets on sale for its festive services and introduced additional trains just in time for Christmas.

Tickets are available for just £ 39 one way on the Christmas timetable, which will run from 12 December to 8 January.

The schedule will include nine daily round trips on weekdays between London and Paris, five between London and Brussels and two between London and Amsterdam.

Travelers should wear face masks even if they have been fully vaccinated.

Eurostar sees an increase in the number of people buying tickets and said it is seeing a return of people making weekend trips between London and Paris compared to 2020.

More than four out of five bookings are for leisure or visiting friends and family.

The busiest travel day of the year so far is expected to be Friday, when Eurostar will operate 15 services to cope with the surge in demand due to the mid-term school term.

Last year Eurostar said it was “fighting for its survival against a 95% drop in demand” due to the Covid pandemic.

During the pandemic, the rail operator only made two round trips a day for several months, compared to 56 trains before the crisis.
