The England Cricket Board (ECB) are set to withdraw their stars ahead of the Test series against New Zealand.
England Player IPL Bids: Jos Buttler has already been shortlisted by Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2022: Reportedly, another 22 English cricketers have signed up for the auction to be held next month in Bengaluru.

Why won’t English players be available for the full IPL? According to a report by Cricbuzz, the ECB is ready to recall its players during the final stages of IPL 2022 to prepare for the series against New Zealand.
England kick off their summer against New Zealand in June in a three-Test series, but after the Ashes debacle the ECB will recall their players for ideal red-ball preparation ahead of the series.
Which English cricketers can be affected? Some of the England Test team regulars like Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and Chris Woakes have already pulled out of the IPL 2022 Auction.
The likes of Jonny Bairstow, Ollie Pope, Mark Wood, Dawid Malan Craig Overton, Sam Billings and Dan Lawrence all remain in contention to be picked up by franchises.
Jos Buttler, who once captained England, has already been booked for Rs 11 crore by the Rajasthan Royals.
Their will be a question mark over the availability of these cricketers for the entire duration of the IPL.
What will IPL franchises do? Although no official communication has been made, it is believed that franchises have been advised to prepare for such an eventuality as they develop their plans for the IPL 2022 auction.
It remains to be seen how this news could potentially alter the plans and prices players would get in the auction.
Twenty-two England players have signed up for the IPL mega auction, including several who took part in England’s recent test plans.

ECB chief executive Tom Harrison has called for a reset in English cricket after the Ashes debacle, with Joe Root’s side losing 4-0 Down Under. With the IPL 2022 set to last two months from March 27, England players could miss the final league games and the playoffs. Said players could then take part in the final round of County Championship matches ahead of the England v New Zealand series, which kicks off on May 12.
