Clear out just in time for the trick-or-treat

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee (WVLT) – Showers will get lighter as we head into Halloween and get out of here just in time for a sleight of hand.

The patchy showers continue overnight and through the first half of Halloween. However, we won’t see all of these showers. The gloomy conditions seem to continue for most of us, but this sun will start to return to its peak on Sunday afternoon. We will start Sunday around 50 and warm up to 62 in the afternoon.

Temperatures are around 57 degrees around 6 p.m. and nearly 52 degrees around 8 p.m. You will want the sweatshirts under the suits on Sunday night because it will be chilly especially when that sun goes down.

Monday and Tuesday are the selection days in the extended forecast. We will be close to 64 degrees on Monday but a little cooler on Tuesday at 59 degrees.

The next cold front approaches from Wednesday late to Thursday, with a build-up of rain and temperatures returning to the 50s for the highs. Thursday night it will be in the upper 30s again in the valley, but a few lingering showers can turn to patchy snow on top of the mountains by Friday morning.

The very cold air also continues next weekend.
