What is La Poste broadband?
La Poste has been offering a basic broadband service since 2009, and a few years ago it added a few fiber offers to its offer. Post Office aims to provide simple and easy to use broadband service complemented by friendly customer service.
Still among the UK’s cheapest ADSL broadband providers, Post Office operates its broadband service using TalkTalk’s wholesale network, which in turn uses Openreach’s national broadband infrastructure – check out our guide broadband jargon for more information. What does La Poste broadband offer?
Post Office Broadband offers a range of broadband plans and also offers home phone services, but does not offer any TV plans. And if you’re having trouble figuring out what broadband speed you need, our guide can help you find the plan that’s right for you.
- Broadband ADSL – The cheapest postal plan is a standard broadband (ADSL) plan with an average download speed of 11 Mbps and an average download speed of 1 Mbps.
- High speed fiber– Post Office Unlimited Fiber Broadband offers average download speeds of 38 Mbps and upload speeds of 2 Mbps, while Unlimited Fiber Broadband Plus offers average upload speeds of 67 Mbps and upload speeds of 10 Mbps.
- Phone – Post Office home phone offers include free calls to other Post Office home phone numbers anytime, as well as security features like caller ID and call barring. ‘call. Weekend calls (6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday) can be added for free, while it is possible to pay for evening and weekend calls (evenings are 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weekdays) , Anytime calls (including 1000 minutes to 0870 and 0845 numbers) or Anytime Plus, which also includes calls to mobiles and international calls.

- Home phone features – Post Office offers a number of home phone features as standard, including free calls to other Post Office customers, 10% off calls to 10 UK numbers of your choice, call barring and 1471, caller ID and “hide my number”.
- SafeGuard Post Office– This free internet security package includes firewall, virus protection and parental controls.

Does Post Office Broadband offer TV or mobile?
How do I get in touch with Post Office Broadband?
You can call Post Office Broadband’s customer support team on 0345 600 3210 or write to them (this is the post office, after all) at Post Office Telecoms Services, PO Box 14125, Selkirk TD7 9AF. You can also send an email to the supplier using a form on their website.
How long will it take to switch to postal broadband?
Post Office Broadband will send you a welcome pack, which will give you an estimated start date for your service, within five business days of receiving your order. If you already have a working BT / Openreach phone line in your facility, your services should be switched within 10 business days of placing your order.
If you do not yet have a working phone line or if you are leaving Virgin Media, it will take a little longer.
Do I have to inform my former supplier that I am switching to Swiss Post?
If you are currently with another provider that uses the Openreach network (that’s all providers listed on this page other than Virgin Media and Hyperoptic), then non – Post Office Broadband will do this for you.
If you are switching from Virgin or Hyperoptic, you will need to notify your previous provider of your departure. Post Office Broadband advises that you wait until your postal service is up and running before notifying Virgin, in order to avoid being offline for a while, but by doing this you risk paying two companies for broadband on same month.

Can I keep my phone number?
In most cases, yes, you will be able to keep your current phone number. Post Office Broadband will let you know if this is possible when you place your order and will also let you know how long the “porting” process is likely to take.
